Student move-in, convocation, and the start of the academic year return the University of Oregon campus to its lively norm.

UO’s stadiums and arenas host occasional events in the summer—notably June’s Garth Brooks concert at Autzen Stadium and a series of music performances at Matthew Knight Arena—but really shine when UO Athletics is back in action.

Autzen Stadium, where it never rains (even when it does), saw the Ducks Football home opener on September 7 against Nevada, a 77-6 win. Enthusiastic crowds and high-scoring games have been the norm this season. The home schedule continues October 5 against the Cal Bears, kickoff at 5 pm.

Upcoming events at Matthew Knight Arena include Women’s Volleyball vs Utah September 29 at noon, the Men’s Basketball Yellow and Green Scrimmage on October 30, and Women’s Basketball season opener vs Northeastern on November 11.

The return of the busy events schedule means traffic surges, so awareness of the calendar can help community members plan their travel and avoid impacts to commutes.
