Economic Development and Strategic Relations

Economic Development and Strategic Relations facilitates UO’s role in these areas through the identification, engagement, and execution of strategic partnerships and educational partnerships with companies, economic and business community engagement organizations, corporate foundations, and government groups.

Staff members serve as key representatives for outreach to third parties seeking to develop partnerships with UO and for the coordination of university implementation and stewardship of these partnerships. We identify and aggregate opportunities for both outbound and inbound impact-focused collaborations – connecting faculty, staff, and students with external partners while serving as one of the primary points of contact for external partners to identify collaborative opportunities.

The UO's Roadmap to Regional Growth

The University of Oregon is undergoing an exciting process to assess and enhance our role in driving economic growth, strengthening communities, and supporting businesses across the region.

As part of this process, the University of Oregon has been nationally recognized for its leadership in economic engagement, earning the Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) designation from the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU). This recognition reflects the UO’s role as a catalyst for innovation, a partner in workforce development, and a driver of community vitality across Oregon and beyond.
