Congressman DeFazio to hold forum on campus

US Congressman Peter DeFazio (D-Oregon) will be on the University of Oregon campus today, January 22, and January 23 for a series of events. Starting at 6pm on January 22, Congressman DeFazio will hold a public forum about fast track authority and the Trans-Pacific Partnership in the Erb Memorial Union’s Fir Room. Congressman DeFazio will be joined by a panel of experts at to discuss the implications of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The panel will include a member of UO’s Labor Education and Research Center, Professor Gordon Lafer His work concentrates on strategic planning, strategic research, and labor and employment policy issues. From 2009 through 2010, Lafer served as Senior Labor Policy Advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Education and Labor.  The event is open to the public.

Congressman DeFazio will return to campus the next day to participate in events with student groups.
