Legislature approves Oregon University System budget and capital construction projects


The Legislature adjourned Sine Die on July 8. It voted to fund the Oregon University System for the 2013-15 biennium at $744,846,365, about $11 million below current service levels, in HB 5031.

Legislature adjourns, gives final approval to governance bills


On the final day of the 2013 Legislative Session, the Oregon Senate gave final approval to SB 270, adopting technical concurrence amendments by a vote of 25 to 4 with one member excused. The bill grants institutional boards for Oregon’s public universities.

Legislature funds signature research centers, RAIN


The Oregon State Legislature adjourned Sine Die on July 8. It approved HB 5028, the budget for Business Oregon.  The bill included funding for the Oregon Innovation Council (Oregon InC), the Oregon Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network (RAIN), and the University Venture Development Fund (UVDF).

Institutional boards bill passes Senate


On July 3, the Oregon Senate passed SB 270 B, a bill that establishes institutional boards for Oregon’s public universities on a vote of 23 to 7.
